Right click -> New -> Shortcut not working as expected
I created a new folder in the root of my C drive and removed the write permission for the group "Authenticated Users" (because i did not want a member of the "Users" group to have write access to this folder). Now, if i try to create a new shortcut inside this folder by "right clicking" and selecting "New", the only option i get is to create a new folder. The option to create a new shortcut and all other file types that can usually be created this way are just GONE. This problem occurs with Administrator users (explorer.exe started with elevated rights) as well as limited users. Apparently the write permission for the "Authenticated Users" group controls this feature and taking the write permission away breaks it, even for Admins, which imho is completely bogus. Is this a bug or is this odd behaviour to be expected (for whatever reason)?

Hi, I have tested the issue. It is a by design behavior if you remove the write permission for "Authenticated Users" It is not recommended using the Authenticated Users group for controlling permissions. Thanks for your answer. I do not want to use the "Authenticated Users" group for assigning permissions, quite the opposite, thats why i removed it. What is the intention of this behaviour (since it is "by design")? I fail to see the point...
